Terms of Service
Last updated July 14, 2026
Welcome to Plated. These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Plated web application and related services (the “Service”), operated by Plated (“we”, “us”, “our”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. The Service
Plated is a subscription-based software tool for in-home personal chefs. It helps chefs manage client households, record dietary needs and allergens, plan weekly menus, and generate shopping and delivery lists. Plated is a planning and organizational tool only.
2. Eligibility & accounts
You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract to use the Service. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account and for all activity under it. You agree to provide accurate information and keep it up to date.
3. Subscriptions, billing & payments
The Service is offered on a monthly subscription basis (currently $29/month Solo and $59/month Pro, subject to change). Payments are processed by our authorized reseller and Merchant of Record, Lemon Squeezy (Sold through Link, LLC), who handles billing, receipts, and applicable taxes. Subscriptions renew automatically each month until cancelled. You can cancel at any time from your account billing page or the Lemon Squeezy customer portal; cancellation stops future renewals, and you retain access until the end of your current billing period. Refunds are governed by our Refund Policy.
4. Allergen & food-safety disclaimer
Plated helps you record and flag allergens and dietary restrictions, and can hide recipes containing ingredients you have tagged as allergens. This feature is an organizational aid only and does not guarantee food safety. You, the chef, are solely responsible for verifying every ingredient, reviewing all menus, preventing cross-contamination, and confirming the suitability and safety of all food you prepare and serve. Allergen and dietary information in the Service is only as accurate as the data you enter. Plated does not provide medical, nutritional, or health advice, and must not be relied upon as the sole safeguard against allergic reactions or dietary harm. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all liability for any illness, injury, allergic reaction, or damages arising from food prepared or served using the Service.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse the Service, including by: violating any law; infringing others’ rights; attempting to gain unauthorized access; disrupting the Service; or uploading unlawful, harmful, or infringing content. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
6. Your content & data
You retain ownership of the data you enter (clients, recipes, menus, and similar). You grant us a limited license to store and process it solely to provide the Service. You are responsible for having the necessary consent to store information about your clients and their household members, including allergen and dietary details.
7. Intellectual property
The Service, including its software, design, and branding, is owned by us and protected by law. These Terms do not grant you any right to our intellectual property except the limited right to use the Service as intended.
8. Disclaimers
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, merchantability, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.
10. Termination
You may stop using the Service and cancel at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms or if we discontinue the Service. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ends.
11. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date and, where appropriate, notify you. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
